I suck at life.

So I finally get a phone call from John and I spend the whole conversation crying. I am so mad at myself. I just have hit such a rut in this deployment. I was doing so well and now I can't do anything but miss him and be upset. I need to get back into the positive mood I was in. I hate the fact that I have him thinking that I am a mess back home and that he won't be able to call me back for another week or so maybe longer. I need December to be here now. I miss him more than anything and I just want him back home...

Dear Deployment,

I hate you. That is all.

Love,
Cathleen

The South

For the record, Florida is not the South. New Orleans, not the South. Texas, that is a category all its own. Oh one last thing, Southern Delaware, no, not even close.

Monday, July 27, 2009

I want Monday to be over.

So the only thing I am scared of more than dentists in the Ocean. Good thing I am not going to the beach today too! I have a dentist appointment in 40 minutes and I don't have John's hand to hold or anything. Oh boy, this is going to suck.

After that I have to hit back at work then I have a corporate finance exam after that. What an awesome day right??

I did however got an e-mail from John this morning which made me so happy. It has been a couple of days since I had heard from him and that was because communications there had been shut down. I hope he will be able to call me soon. It has almost been a week since I have heard his voice but I know we have gone later than that before. I should be happy that we get to talk as much as we do because its waaaaaaaaaaaay more than we both that we would have during this deployment, but it is so hard to think that way. I have to hear from some of the other wives that they get to talk on the phone to their Marine almost daily for a long time or get to e-ail each other 24/7. I know that some people have a different work load and can spend time waiting in lines. I know John can't. He works 14+ hour days 7 days a week. I also know that some people are still in another location and all but its whatever. I guess I am happy with what I have. I mean I have John and that is the best thing in the world. 4 months and 6 days left, sorta.

Off to the dentist..I hope I don't cry.

Booo

People are stupid. The end.

I just want John to come home. He is not stupid.

Off for another 12 hour day...

At least its almost Friday.

Phone Call

John did get to call this afternoon!!! It was such a good conversation that I think I will be smiling for a week. He told me this cute story that he and his friends made up about their futures outside the Marine Corps. It was all about how he was going to play for the Bengals and this whole plan about what he was going to do when I deploy. Just how he told it to me was adorable. It was so nice to hear him in such a cheery mood and he said the same about me. I am so glad that the communication is better than what we both expected. It is certainly making our time apart easier. This month has seem to go by really fast. I hope the last 4 do the same.

Night class went well and after that I read over our Lease and it all looks to be in order. I just need them to write out the military clause they explained to me when I gave them our application.

Now it is tiem to write my nightly letter to John and go to bed. I have to work tomorrow so I need my sleep.

Back Again

Ok so I guess I should try to do this thing again.

Today has been a good day. I got an e-mail form John this morning and I am still hoping for a phone call from him this afternoon. I can't believe that July is almost over! Just over 4 more months to go on this deployment! I can't wait for him to come home and see our new apartment. I am super excited to get it all ready for him. It was hard to find a place with him being in Afghanistan and not really able to look with me but we agreed on a place that is perfect for us. It is still close to base for him but a lot easier for me to get to school from. It is a 1 bedroom deluxe with a brand new upgraded kitchen and our own washer and dryer. We are both so excited for it. I am moving in 17 OCT so I have time to set it all up nice and paint and such before John gets home. Here is the link in case anyone wants to see pictures. We do have the nice kitchen with the stainless steel apps!

So I didn't have to work today so I was able to just have a relaxing day. I went to the post office like I do everyday and I started to oraganize out things for the move. I really don't have the much time to pack between work, school, army, and all the other things I have to do in the next 3 months. I will get it all done though.

Other than that I was talking to my sister-in-law Jess a bit today about mail for John. We are all so excited that her and her husband are expecting their first child! I know that both of us are thrilled to be an aunt and uncle again. That is something that he is very excited about as well and has him in such a good mood over there. She is sending him Starbucks too so I know he is going to smile!

I am going to go do my little bit of homework for my night class tonight now but I decided that I am going to make this my Deployment Blog. I know that I write to John everynight but this is a help too.
